Writing Prompt

Hello, Everyone!

As always, just because this is a blog does not mean that the writing is free game. I own the rights to my writing and to all of my posts. Also, I love reading what all of you write based off the writing prompt. Make sure to tag or email me a link (penname.books@gmail.com) so I can read what you did!

Writing Prompt: Use the following in your story-

“Do me a favor, promise you will always remember me.” He says
“Please, don’t make me promise you that.” She says.
He stares at her with pain in his eyes.
“People only want you to remember them when they are leaving you. If you are leaving me, then don’t make me remember, or I will suffer for the rest of my life.”

Their love is one that grew with time. He had deep dark pools for eyes where she had bright blue ones. He was quiet, and thoughtful, where she was wild and outgoing. He was tall and built thick where she was short and travel sized. To put it simply, they were opposites. You know what they say about opposites and in this case, they were right.

The love they had for each other was as pure as could be. Laughter and joy was how they lived. It would not be real if there was not some sadness, but that terrible feeling never lasted long in their household.

So late one night when a he said “Do me a favor, promise you will always remember me.” It filled her with the most pain she had ever been in from her love. The thought of him not being around was unfathomable.

“Please, don’t make me promise you that.” She replied.

He stared at her with discomfort in his eyes.

“People only want you to remember them when they are leaving you. If you are leaving me, then don’t make me remember, or I will suffer for the rest of my life.”

His head bobbed in understanding. He did not want her to hurt, and he could not keep her away from pain. He was being forced to leave, and there was nothing he or she could do to stop it.

“Then promise to forget me and move on with your life.”

Her mouth dropped open as her eyes widened. “No, you… you can’t!” The tears she had been holding back cascaded down her soft cheeks. “Please, Nate…”

“I’m sorry,” he said and ran out.

It was better this way. He knew it, but she would never understand. The men were too close now, and it would only place his love’s life in danger. She was far too important for that to happen.

He left, he caused her pain, he caused himself pain, in order to save her. It was the greatest show of love he could give, and she would never know.

That is all for today.

Be free and keep reading!

Ta, ta.
